Dietitian for Metabolic Health and Weight Management

At MNT Diagnostics, we specialise in dietetic care and advanced nutrition diagnostic testing to help individuals achieve optimal metabolic health. We specialise in helping individuals who have faced challenges with weight, no matter how hard they have tried. Our approach is designed to support those managing conditions such as weight concerns, insulin resistance, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, fatty liver disease, thyroid conditions, pre-diabetes, menopause, cortisol dysregulation and PCOS

Using state-of-the-art diagnostic procedures, including metabolism scans, Substrate Analysis, BI-Spectroscopy and DEXA, we provide accurate data that allows us to craft highly personalised nutrition plans. We are one of a handful of dietitians in Australia able to offer these advanced diagnostic procedures. Our specialist dietitian, APD Joshua Morgan, utilises both nutrition diagnostic testing and traditional pathology to uncover exactly what is holding you back—whether it's metabolic inefficiencies, hormonal imbalances, or nutrient deficiencies. From these results, he develops targeted treatment plans designed to address the root cause, empowering you to take control of your health, make sustainable lifestyle changes, and achieve lasting metabolic health improvements.

Our specialist dietitian is also highly experienced in assisting those using GLP-1 agonist medications, such as Ozempic or Wegovy, to maximise lasting results safely and effectively. We help a range of individuals reviewing their metabolic needs, from those utilising Ozempic to individuals with complex conditions or disorders. Book your first consultation online today.

Specialist Dietetics For Your Well-Being

Common Conditions We Support

Weight Management

Our weight management program focuses on creating sustainable, long-term changes that align with each individual’s metabolic profile and lifestyle. Using advanced QNRG Metabolism Scans, we assess your body’s unique nutrition requirements, which helps us develop a nutrition plan designed to achieve weight goals without resorting to extreme diets or restrictive meal plans. By understanding how your metabolism functions, we provide targeted dietary strategies that support gradual, healthy weight loss or maintenance, helping you build lasting habits for a balanced life.

High Cholesterol and High Blood Pressure

Effective management of high cholesterol and blood pressure is essential for maintaining heart health and preventing future complications. Our specialist dietitian, APD Joshua Morgan, collaborates with patients to create heart-healthy nutrition plans that incorporate foods known to lower cholesterol levels and stabilise blood pressure. Through personalised guidance, we help patients make informed choices that promote cardiovascular health.

Fatty Liver Disease

Fatty liver disease is often linked to metabolic health issues and requires a targeted approach to reduce liver fat and support liver function. Our dietitian provides carefully tailored nutrition plans that focus on reducing inflammation, managing body weight, lowering visceral fat, and incorporating nutrients essential for liver health. With a combination of body composition analysis and tailored dietary guidance, we support patients in taking proactive steps toward improved liver health and overall metabolic balance.

Pre-Diabetes and Insulin Resistance

Stabilising blood sugar levels is critical for individuals with pre-diabetes and insulin resistance, as it helps prevent complications and supports overall well-being. We offer personalised dietary guidance that focuses on blood sugar stabilisation. Our approach includes ongoing support and monitoring to help patients achieve optimal blood glucose control, reduce dependency on medications, improve insulin resistance, and prevent further progression of the disease. With insights from our diagnostic tools, we can make specific dietary adjustments that align with your blood sugar goals and enhance your quality of life.

PCOS (Polycystic Ovary Syndrome)

PCOS often brings with it challenges related to weight management, insulin resistance, and hormone imbalances. Our evidence-based approach helps individuals with PCOS balance hormones, stabilise blood sugar, reverse insulin resistance, and improve related symptoms through a targeted nutritional plan. By addressing the unique metabolic needs associated with PCOS, we support patients in reducing symptoms such as fatigue, weight gain, and mood changes. Our approach is designed to help manage insulin sensitivity and support a balanced lifestyle, enabling patients with PCOS to feel more in control of their health.

Menopause and Perimenopause

Menopause and perimenopause often come with challenges such as weight changes, hormonal fluctuations, and shifts in metabolic health. Our evidence-based approach supports individuals through this transition by addressing hormonal imbalances, improving metabolism, and alleviating symptoms through a tailored nutritional plan. By focusing on the unique needs of this life stage, we help manage concerns like fatigue, weight gain, mood changes, and bone health. Our approach is designed to optimise metabolic health, support hormonal balance, and empower individuals to feel more in control of their well-being during menopause and beyond.

High Cortisol and Cushings Syndrome

Cortisol imbalances, including conditions like Cushing’s Syndrome, can significantly impact metabolism, weight, and overall well-being. Excess cortisol levels often lead to weight gain, insulin resistance, muscle loss, and increased fatigue. Our tailored nutrition approach helps manage the metabolic effects of high cortisol by incorporating anti-inflammatory foods, stabilising blood sugar levels, and addressing nutrient deficiencies that support adrenal health. By working closely with patients, we help create a nutrition plan that supports hormonal balance and improves overall metabolic resilience.

Metabolic Syndrome

Metabolic Syndrome is a cluster of conditions—including high blood pressure, high blood sugar, excess abdominal fat, and abnormal cholesterol levels—that increase the risk of heart disease, stroke, and diabetes. Our comprehensive approach focuses on improving insulin sensitivity, reducing inflammation, and supporting cardiovascular health through personalised dietary strategies. By utilising QNRG Metabolism Scans and Body Composition Analysis, we tailor nutrition plans to address the root causes of metabolic dysfunction, helping patients regain control of their health and long-term well-being.

GLP-1 Agonists (Ozempic & Wegovy)

GLP-1 agonists like Ozempic and Wegovy can be highly effective for weight loss and insulin resistance, but many individuals experience weight regain after ceasing these medications. This is often due to metabolic adaptation, a process where weight loss includes muscle loss, leading to a slower metabolism and weight regain when appetite returns. At MNT Diagnostics, we use advanced nutrition diagnostic testing to assess body composition, monitor the metabolism and identify early signs of muscle loss, helping to prevent this cycle.

Our specialist dietitian is highly experienced in supporting individuals using GLP-1 agonist medications to maximise safe and effective results whilst minimising side effects. Through tailored nutritional plans and evidence-based strategies, we help preserve lean muscle mass, optimise metabolism, and promote sustainable weight management, ensuring lasting improvements in your health.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Our scans are simple, painless, and completely safe. They are designed to accommodate people of all mobility levels, ensuring everyone can access these vital assessments with ease. For more detailed information on what is involved in each type of scan, click here.

  • We provide multiple solutions and strategies to improve your metabolic health and do not believe a strict diet is the answer. Your treatment plan will be tailored to your preferences and needs. Some people find a more structured approach works better for them, while others prefer a principle-guided approach. Your specialist dietitian will discuss these options with you, and together, you’ll decide which is best for you.

  • A Medicare Care Plan, also known as an Enhanced Primary Care (EPC) plan, allows eligible individuals with chronic or complex conditions to access Medicare rebates for allied health services. If you believe you may qualify, book an appointment with your GP to discuss your eligibility. To create a referral, provide your GP with the following information:

    • Name: APD Joshua Morgan

    • Practice: MNT Diagnostics

    • Provider Number: 6344833F

If you have all five sessions available under your EPC plan, we recommend using them either entirely with our specialist dietitian or splitting them between dietetics and an Exercise Physiologist (EP). We suggest Atkins Health for EP services. Once your GP creates the EPC referral, you can book your sessions with us. Medicare rebates will provide approximately $60 off the total cost of each consultation.

Your treatment plan will always be tailored to your specific needs, ensuring that your time and resources are used effectively.
