Comprehensive Care For Individuals Managing Complex Conditions
Invisible illnesses, such as Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS), Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS), Mast Cell Activation Syndrome (MCAS), Dysautonomia, Vascular Compression Syndrome (VCS) and Myalgic encephalomyelitis/chronic fatigue syndrome (ME/CFS), represent a group of complex and often under-recognised conditions. These disorders can present with a range of symptoms that significantly impact daily life, yet they often go undiagnosed or misdiagnosed due to their nuanced nature. For many patients, the journey to a diagnosis can be long and challenging, and even with a diagnosis, managing these conditions requires specialised care and understanding.
Joshua Morgan APD observed that these individuals often lacked access to the care they required. Motivated by their unmet needs, he set out to build a service specifically designed to aid people living with these conditions. He has sought out advanced nutrition diagnostic machinery to better understand and address their unique challenges. Additionally, Joshua has conducted in-depth investigations into these conditions to identify medical nutrition therapies that can make a significant positive impact on their lives.
At MNT Diagnostics, our specialist dietitian, Joshua, is dedicated to supporting patients with one or many of these conditions. His goal is to provide both guidance and practical, personalised nutritional support during this uncertain time. Through our advanced nutrition diagnostic technology and specialist dietetic services, Joshua helps patients manage their symptoms, improve their quality of life, and navigate the complexities of these invisible illnesses with confidence. His approach ensures that each patient receives tailored care designed to meet their unique needs.

Conditions We Support With Medical Nutrition Therapy
APD Joshua Morgan supports individuals with a range of invisible illnesses, offering expertise and compassionate care to manage complex symptoms. These conditions often overlap, presenting challenges that require an integrated approach to care.
Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS)
Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome is a connective tissue disorder that impacts the body’s collagen, leading to joint hypermobility and often symptoms such as fragile skin, chronic pain, and gastrointestinal complications. People with EDS may experience frequent joint dislocations, skin that is more prone to bruising, and heightened sensitivity to pain. EDS can also contribute to chronic fatigue and digestive issues. The complex symptoms of EDS frequently overlap with those of POTS and MCAS, necessitating a comprehensive approach to care. Tailored nutrition can play a vital role in managing symptoms, improving overall quality of life, and addressing specific nutritional needs unique to those with EDS.
Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS)
POTS is a condition that affects the autonomic nervous system, particularly in regulating blood flow and heart rate. For those with POTS, shifts in posture—such as standing up quickly—can trigger dizziness, lightheadedness, fainting, and even nausea due to a mismatch in blood pressure and heart rate. Chronic fatigue, brain fog, and anxiety are also common symptoms, which can be severe enough to dramatically impact daily life. POTS frequently overlaps with conditions like EDS and MCAS, making a coordinated approach to symptom management essential. Nutrition plays a vital component in managing POTS, helping to alleviate symptoms, support energy levels, and improve overall quality of life through targeted dietary strategies.
Mast Cell Activation Syndrome (MCAS) & Histamine intolerance
MCAS occurs when the body’s mast cells, responsible for immune responses, produce too much histamine or cannot clear it effectively. This condition can lead to gastrointestinal issues, skin rashes, itching, flushing, and respiratory symptoms. Symptoms may vary daily, making it challenging to manage without specialised care. MCAS often coexists with EDS and POTS, highlighting the need for individualised care. Targeted nutrition can be crucial in managing MCAS, helping to reduce symptom triggers, support immune function, and improve overall quality of life through a carefully tailored diet.
In addition to EDS, POTS, and MCAS, MNT Diagnostics provides support for a range of other complex invisible illnesses that often coincide with each other, including:
Dysautonomia
Myalgic encephalomyelitis/chronic fatigue syndrome (ME/CFS)
Vascular Compression Syndrome (VCS)
Hypermobility Spectrum Disorder
Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth (SIBO)
Intestinal Methanogen Overgrowth
Microbiome Dysbiosis (Gut health)
Gastrointestinal disturbances such as bloating, reflux, pain, cramping, gas, diarrhea, constipation etc.
Eating Disorders
Insulin resistance and other metabolic health concerns
Autism & ADHD (Neurodiversity)
Joshua understands the complex and interconnected nature of these disorders and the unique dietary needs they present. With our specialised diagnostic technology and tailored nutrition therapy, he aims to provide the highest level of support to help patients manage their symptoms and improve their quality of life.
How Our Nutrition Diagnostic Testing Can Help
At MNT Diagnostics, we pride ourselves on being one of the few dietitian-led services in Australia equipped with cutting-edge nutrition diagnostic tools specifically tailored to support individuals managing complex conditions like EDS, POTS, MCAS, Dysautonomia, and ME/CFS. Our advanced diagnostic procedures include Metabolism Scans, Substrate Analysis, Bioimpedance Spectroscopy (BI-Spectroscopy), and Dual-Energy X-ray Absorptiometry (DEXA), each designed to provide unique insights into your health and nutritional status.
These diagnostic tests can uncover critical information, such as:
Fluid Status and Composition: BI-Spectroscopy offers precise assessments of fluid levels, helping to manage fluid balance in conditions like POTS and dysautonomia.
Energy Utilisation: Metabolism Scans reveal how your body utilises energy and substrate efficiency, identifying potential metabolic inefficiencies often seen in chronic conditions.
Body Composition: DEXA scans provide detailed insights into bone density, lean muscle mass, and fat distribution, crucial for monitoring musculoskeletal health in EDS and other conditions.
Tracking Progress: These tests enable the monitoring of therapeutic interventions, ensuring your treatment plan is effective and adaptive to your body’s needs.
Identifying Nutritional Gaps: Together, these tools help uncover underlying issues, such as malnutrition or imbalances, that can exacerbate symptoms or hinder recovery.
Our diagnostic procedures allow us to go beyond conventional care, providing a deeper understanding of your unique challenges. With this data, APD Joshua Morgan can create evidence-based, highly personalised nutrition plans that address the root causes of your symptoms and support optimal health outcomes. By choosing MNT Diagnostics, you gain access to the kind of comprehensive assessment and targeted care that is often difficult to find, empowering you to take control of your health with confidence.

-
Whether you book directly with us or your doctor provides a referral, we ensure the process is straightforward and efficient.

During your first appointment (or the first couple of sessions), we focus on understanding your health in detail. This involves clarifying your symptoms and building a comprehensive picture of your nutritional status. We’ll also complete any necessary diagnostic scans, such as:
Metabolism Scan: To assess how your body utilises energy and pinpoint any inefficiencies.
BI-Spectroscopy: To evaluate fluid balance.
DEXA Scan: To measure bone density, lean muscle mass, and fat distribution.
These assessments are typically split over the initial sessions to ensure we collect accurate data without overwhelming you.
-
Once we’ve identified what’s happening, we’ll develop a tailored treatment plan to address your specific needs. This plan may include:
Nutrition therapy and therapeutic diets.
Clinical supplementation.
Integrative strategies for managing your condition.
Coordination of a healthcare team, if needed. If you don’t already have a team in place, we’ll assess your requirements and refer you to local specialists familiar with these complex conditions who work closely with Joshua.
